Pupils capture life at school through a lens; CELEBRATING NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK.(News) - Coventry Evening Telegraph (England)

TO celebrate the recent National Photography Week we linked up with Europe's leading photographic retailer Jessops - with stores at 32 Hertford Street and 21a Cross Cheaping in Coventry - to give disposable cameras to a variety of groups around the city.

Armed only with a camera and their imagination, groups - including schools, community organisations and charities - went out and about taking images that show the positive side of our city.

Watch out for more in the Evening Telegraph as we celebrate Our City. RELAXING: Year 5 pupils Iram Shakatt and Candy Chang on a bench in Radford Primary grounds.

Students and teachers took a variety of pictures - including snapping the school's deputy head Karen Hawcutt and Year 1 teacher Vicky Austin trying out the bouncy castle which had been brought into the school for the early years party.

Other students used the camera to take pictures of their playground, including a new adventure corner which has just been put in place at the school.

A visit to see the progress of the new Electric Wharf development in Sandy Lane, Radford, gave the children a further opportunity to take pictures of their community.

And Ernesford Grange primary school pupils also gave a unique insight into their community when they got behind the lens for a week.

The youngsters captured fellow pupils taking part in a range of activities at the school in Foxton Road, Ernesford Grange.

They included shots of PE lessons, hockey sessions and Year 3 pupils getting ready for sports day.

Some pupils were also captured battling the heat by filling up water bottles before class.

The pictures are just a snapshot of one busy week in the life of a Coventry primary school.
